Option 1: The Jefferson Trail — Monticello
Enjoy a scenic and delectable day in the beautiful Virginia countryside, beginning with a stop at Tuckahoe Plantation, Thomas Jefferson’s boyhood home. Travel to Charlottesville for lunch at historic Michie Tavern and a guided tour of Monticello, Jefferson’s architectural masterpiece and beloved mountaintop home. Monticello is the only home in America recognized by the United Nations as a World Heritage Site. Following Monticello, unwind with a visit to Mt. Ida Reserve Tasting Room and Taphouse, situated atop a secluded 7,000 acre sanctuary, with incredible views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Option 2: Busch Gardens
Busch Gardens Williamsburg is a 383-acre theme park located in Williamsburg. The park opened in 1975, and is themed around various European countries. The park features a combination of nine roller coasters and Broadway-style shows. The park is broken into “countries,” each having its own unique style of food and music. The rides in the sections of the park are also themed to the country that they are located in. Busch Gardens has held the title of “World’s Most Beautiful Theme Park” every year since 1990.
